Gregory L. Ebel
Vice President/Human Resources

Greg Ebel, 49, joined Scripps in 1994 as vice president of human resources. As the senior human resources officer for Scripps, he directs a broad range of personnel initiatives related to recruitment, training, labor and employee relations, and compensation and benefit programs. He also chairs the boards of trustees overseeing the company's retirement plans.

Prior to Scripps, Ebel spent 12 years with PNC Bank, Ohio and its predecessor, The Central Bancorporation, as the senior human resources executive, and later, manager of the bank's private banking division. He began his business career at Armco Inc. as an employee benefits specialist.

Ebel holds an M.B.A. from Miami (Ohio) University and a B.S. in education from Eastern Kentucky University. He holds a lifetime accreditation from the Society for Human Resources Management as a Senior Professional in Human Resources, the profession's highest designation.

Currently, Ebel serves as president of the board of trustees of the Cincinnati May Festival and INROADS/Greater Cincinnati-Dayton Inc. He co-chairs Business Volunteers for the Arts/Cincinnati and is secretary of the board of the American Red Cross, Cincinnati Area Chapter. Ebel also is a trustee of the Cincinnati Nature Center and serves on the advisory board of Metropolitan Education and Training Services (METS).
